Nubix Appoints Stephen Berard as CTO
Stephen joins Nubix after serving as CTO at Momenta Ventures where he sourced and evaluated investment opportunities across digital industry. He advised Momenta’s portfolio of early stage startups. Prior to Momenta, Stephen spent 6 years as Schneider Electric’s Chief Architect of the EcoStruxure IoT platform technologies team. In this role, he drove the technical platform strategy alongside global business units to support their connected products and services. Previously, he served for more than a decade as Technical Program Manager for the Microsoft Windows Core OS team where he advanced data center power management, drove battery life improvements, and defined the connected standby experience for Windows PCs.
Nubix is an edge-native container platform that facilitates development and deployment of IoT and embedded applications. Nubix runs on the tiniest compute devices (both MCUs and MPUs), enabling developers to easily process data on the sensor device where the data is created.
With Stephen’s proven track record leading and building successful global engineering teams and delivering the next-generation connected products and services, he will lead Nubix’s engineering team and platform roadmap.
“I’m excited to serve as CTO for Nubix because we deliver a unique solution that solves a profound problem. There is literally nothing else out there that can do what Nubix does”, said Stephen. “While others provide tools for containers, none of the solutions today are able to do so on constrained, microcontroller-based devices. Nubix is a fundamental step change for embedded devices.”
“Nubix has an extraordinary value proposition and its platform is positioned to be a serious game-changer within application development on edge devices. Since 2019, Stephen has served on our Advisory Board and we are thrilled to welcome him as our new CTO,” said Rachel Taylor, Nubix’s CEO and Founder. “With Stephen’s proven expertise across operating systems, industrial devices and sensors, connectivity, and device and power management, I could not be more excited to work with Stephen to build a world-class engineering team to continue to deliver on our promise of making it as easy to build, deploy and manage applications at the edge as it is in the cloud.”
Stephen holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Rhode Island.
